This is a forest green cotton t-shirt of the vintage Seal Beach Motel neon sign in the MONA collection. The sign resided at Central Ave. and 5th St.. in a residential area of Seal Beach, Calif. In multiple rebranding attempts, the seaside motel changed in name from Seal Beach Motel, to Seal Beach Hotel, and then to the Seal Beach Inn and Gardens. By 1983, the seal was gone from its perch, and six years later it found its way to MONA.
