Location: Museum of Neon Art - 216 S. Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA, 91204
Instructor: Joanne
Join Joanne, MONA’s Electric Lab Manager, as she guides students through each step of creating a neon paperclip - from heating glass over fire, to working with a bending pattern, to wiring up a finished artwork. Three turns in a tube of glass is all you’ll need to properly secure a few sheets of paper. You’ll be fasten-ated as we celebrate the humble paperclip, a wondrous piece of compressed ingenuity.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Joanne Wang (she/her) is a Taiwanese-American neon glassblower and educator. Hailing from Clearwater, FL with a degree in Psychology, and with a background in performing arts, ceramics, and stained glass, she took her first neon class at MONA in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the medium. She considers it a great honor and privilege to support and empower others on their luminous light journeys.
