MONA members are invited to an exclusive tour of Body Heat by David Otis Johnson at LAUNCH Gallery. Admire the works of the longtime MONA exhibiting artist, neon instructor, and sign restorer and then join David Otis Johnson and LAUNCH Gallery Director James Panozzo for a tour of the exhibition at 2pm.
Body Heat features a collection of neon sculptures and text-based works that challenge viewers to question the pervasive impact of consumer culture on identity. David Otis Johnson’s sculptures intertwine luminous lines and dynamic forms, evoking a harmonious interplay between light and space. With each piece he invites viewers to explore the boundaries of reality and the ethereal beauty that lies within the intangible realm.

LAUNCH LA believes that exposure to the arts enhances quality of life and strengthens community by fostering a shared appreciation for creative expression in all its forms. Passionate about supporting artists, LAUNCH LA provides opportunities for them to showcase their work and ideas that resonate with contemporary society to an engaged audience at significant events across Los Angeles. The organization upholds these values by offering arts and culture programming throughout the year at its gallery and project space on La Brea Avenue, as well as through multidisciplinary programs at TARFEST—its annual free music and arts festival celebrating its 20th year—along with periodic showcases and collaborations in various Los Angeles neighborhoods.

Body Heat opens on March 15th and will remain on view until March 29th at LAUNCH Gallery.
