Join fellow Museum of Neon Art members for an exclusive tour of the Gary Shafner’s Shop and Office. Gary Shafner is the co-owner of Alchemy Media, a working print shop in Los Angeles and New York City, and is a friend of MONA’s. This shop is a quirky, inventive space that is mesmerizing to experience. There is a full sized Greyhound bus inside the office, as well as a living cityscape, historic neon signage from MONA’s and Shafner’s collection, and countless other unique elements to discover. Shafner also created the iconic Crapi and CheeZee apartments with the aid of Michael Flechtner, which are a short walk away. MONA members will get to hear the story behind these LA icons from the people that created them!
Experience this unique space on Saturday August 30th, from 1:30-4:30pm. RSVP by August 26th on our website. Membership will be verified and members may bring one non-member guest. This event is held in Culver City, and information will be sent out after the membership verification process via email. We hope to see you there!
