Join neon artist Leticia Maldonado in this beginner friendly three dimensional neon workshop. Students will break from traditional flat patterns and bend a three dimensional sculpture using the guides provided. Each rock friend will have its own gesture, personality, and shape as the student explores ways to describe mass with tubing. Big googly eyes are provided and will be affixed to each work after the bombarding process but are completely optional! Students will leave class with their own fully functional glowing pet rock friend. Great for a table top or bookshelf display!

Leticia Maldonado (b.1980) was born in West Covina, California and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. She grew up surrounded by the bright, eye-catching signs atop famous casinos such as The Dunes, The Tropicana, The Flamingo, and The Stardust. For years, she has been mentored by neon artist Michael Flechtner, and has swiftly emerged as a rising star. Maldonado has been featured in two museum group exhibits, including "She Bends: Women in Neon" and "Building Bridges". Maldonado's solo exhibition, "The Storytellers", was recently on display at the Museum of Neon Art. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
