Ray Howlett: Out of the Fire - Artist Talks:

May  7, 6:30PM PST

Free artist talk and presentation, followed by a Q&A moderated by Corrie Siegel, Executive Director of MONA.

Ray Howlett’s pioneering work in light and sculpture is in museum collections throughout the United States. Since the late 1960’s his work has been closely associated with the Light and Space movement. Howlett’s sculptural forms transform as the viewer moves around the pieces, in Howlett’s words, creating an ”optically expanding space”. Howlett has been experimenting with creating electric artworks since the age of 12 and since the early 1960's he has been using transparency to create what he calls a “push and pull of space.”
