Enjoy a walk down Wilshire Boulevard and witness how architecture and lighting worked together to tell stories and sell glamour in the 1920’s. Learn how the Miracle Mile paved the way for car centered expansion in Los Angeles and see new restoration and reuse projects bloom into the light through neon and neon references. The majority of neon signs on this walk are currently off, however this journey will be filled with incredible architecture and fascinating stories that will light our way. Eric Evavold, a Los Angeles native with over 30 years experience as a Los Angeles tour guide will take you on a tour of the 5th Avenue of the West. First volunteering as a docent at Heritage Square and then with the Carroll Ave Restoration Foundation, Eric then moved on to the Los Angeles Conservancy in the 90’s, conducting the Historic Theatres on Broadway Tour and the Union Station Tour. He is also a tour guide at the historic Bullock’s Wilshire.
In person tours will be limited to 15 people, and tickets are available on a first come, first served basis. To ensure the safety of all, guests will be asked to wear masks and maintain distance from people outside of their household/pod during the tour.
